Most of the personal information we process is provided to us directly by you for one of the following reasons:

  • Joining and administering your membership;

  • Undertaking or delivering training;

  • Receiving advice and responses to enquiries;

  • Participating in events and other group activities;

  • Staying informed of our news, events and services.

We also receive personal information indirectly, from the following sources in the following scenarios:

  • Information created as part of using or delivering our services – for example, Tutors need to make notes about your driving or riding in order to provide you with feedback and relevant training;

  • Technical information automatically collected during use of webpages and online services – see Cookie Policy below.

We use the information that you have given us in order to:

  • Administer memberships, including processing membership fees;

  • Arrange and enable participation in events and other group activities;

  • Plan and coordinate our services;

  • Provide relevant training, advice and responses to your enquiries;

Your information is securely stored. 

We keep Membership information, training status and other information necessary to administer and deliver our services – no longer than 12 months after membership expiry; or legal obligation fulfilled, whichever is the latter. We may then dispose your information by deleting digital records and destroying paper records.

Any other information you choose to share or publish will remain shared or published as per the policy and options of the channel or publication, and the choices that you make on these, and so could be held indefinitely. However, due to its nature, printed content such as items in newsletters cannot be deleted once published. Please ensure you are satisfied with the policy and options available before sharing via any given channel or publication.

As a voluntary organisation without an office, our processing involves a combination of third party online tools, storage and email accounts, and some use of volunteers’ own equipment, such as mobile phones, notebooks, and computers and printers at home.
