Who are the tutors?

Our tutors are approved by RoSPA and have many years of experience in tutoring drivers on techniques to improve their driving.

How is the tuition organised?

You will be assigned a tutor and will go for a drive in your own car, for about 1 hour, during which the tutor will identify areas that need improvement and will advise you on how to make those improvements. Afterwards, there will be a de-briefing session. We also usually have tea/coffee etc.

What happens if I can't attend one week?

No problem! The group is run by volunteers who give up their time when they can. If you can't make the odd week it is no issue, all we ask is you let us know if you are unable to attend.

How much will it cost me?

There is a nominal initial joining fee and annual membership fee, this covers club facilities, which would be discussed with you once you confirm you wish to pursue tuition with the group. Tuition itself is free as it is conducted in your own vehicle.

Do I have to take a test?

No, all tests are optional, however, most people find they like a goal to aim for. See our Tuition page for more information on this and tests.

Is there much theory involved?

There is a certain amount. Roadcraft - The Police Drivers Handbook, is the basis of our training and we also have our own club manual. Familiarity with the latest Highway Code is also beneficial.

What is RoSPA?

RoSPA is the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents. They have been providing Advanced Driving tuition for many years. This is done through local groups like ourselves.
